With an election in progress, there are opportunities GALORE to engage in my favorite form of self-torture: reading Internet message boards. Oh, the hate. Oh, the humanity. Oh, the poor spelling (”Now is the time to HEEL the world”)!

But somewhere in this miasma of conflicting opinions and rabid attacks against one another for daring to actually have conflicting opinions, I did unearth a bit of true genius:

“We’re coming off the worst eight years in our country’s history.” - Somebody needs to go read a history book.

Amended: That’s not to say I think the past eight years have been a glorious era, I simply meant that indeed, history is full of difficult times.
